Honorarium Guide

Philadelphia Yearly Meeting funds the training, staff time, and other administrative costs that bring you Resource Friends, and we ask that meetings chip in the small amount of money to cover the cost of honoraria for Resource Friends.  Our honorarium guide, below, identifies several tiers at which honoraria are recommended based on the extent of the work. Some Resource Friends, from a sense of equity, will choose to donate the honorarium in some way while others may ask for more or less for an honorarium. If a meeting cannot afford an honorarium, please be in touch with us by emailing Olivia Brangan, obrangan@pym.org. There are funds available to cover the honorarium in these cases.

Tier 1 engagements

$250-350 — include one-off events, like a workshop, presentation or training, where the meeting or other constituent has clear goals and has already secured internal agreement around those goals and the engagement with the Resource Friend(s).

Tier 2 engagements

$500-$1,000 — includes the use of Resource Friends to help clients develop and clarify their commitments or needs.  Resource Friends can meet with stakeholders one-on-one, discuss needs with committees and present proposals over a period of time leading up to an event, as needed.

Tier 3 engagements

$750-$1,500 — include on-going consulting in support of a meeting’s initiative or project.

Tier 4 engagements

To be Negotiated — for custom-designed intensive workshops, training, consultation and/or leadership.
