We are elated to welcome Afroza Hossain to PYM Staff as Interim Young Adult Friends Facilitator! Afroza will work closely with other members of our staff Community Engagement Team to support young adult programming through the fall while we search for someone to fill a permanent position.
Afroza Hossain is a member of Green Street Monthly Meeting in Germantown, NW Philadelphia. She was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, grew up in New York City, and has an MTS from Harvard Divinity School in religion, politics, and public policy. She speaks five languages and knows three dead ones. Having lived all over the East Coast, she chose Philly as her home base after falling in love with the city’s Gritty spirit.
Afroza was recently a Fringe Arts’ ambassador with Philly Fringe Arts and a grants consultant for PYM. She is an active member of the reparations committee at GSFM where they have just recently secured 500k in reparations for Germantown residents over the next ten years. Afroza does cat rescue in her spare time, works on her garden, cooks elaborate meals for friends, and takes long walks in the Wissahickon and Awbury Arboretum with her very good dog, Moose.
