Haddonfield Monthly Meeting recently sponsored a book discussion featuring Dave Austin and Charles Middleberg, co-authors of “Small Miracles: A Holocaust Story from France.” Veronica Salaam acted as host.
This book reveals the many “small” ways that people can assist others at crucial times in their lives and is based on Middleberg’s experiences as a Jewish child during the Nazi period.
Charles has been speaking at local schools and other community groups, in conjunction with the Esther Raab Holocaust Museum and Goodwin Education Center in Cherry Hill, NJ. While teaching in the Marlton School District, Dave arranged for Charles to speak to his students, and realized the importance of documenting his story.
Dave and Veronica are members of Haddonfield Monthly Meeting.
