A dozen or so people gather weekly to worship together in the quiet. Our core group of members & attenders has been enriched this past year by several sojourners, or seekers, who participate fairly regularly. Their positive & new experience of Quaker meeting in an old, history-laden meetinghouse has perhaps helped us not to take our surroundings for granted.
Messages are given as they arise, and some weeks, no message is spoken. It is particularly good to hear heartfelt spiritual messages right now, as we have not yet revived our pre-pandemic custom of holding a First Day discussion group for adults, on various spiritual topics. We are hungry for spiritual nourishment.
Visitors are invited to introduce themselves, and to gather in the fellowship building for food & conversation at rise of meeting. Although not everyone avails themself of this opportunity, it is a wonderful way to get better acquainted.
