What to do with the Spiritual Discipline List
- Fill out the Preference Sheet:
Be inwardly honest of what you can and can’t do
What can you start tomorrow? – e.g. don’t pick bird watching even if you think it sounds good if
you don’t have binoculars or don’t live where there are many birds
What might work for you right now, where you are in your spiritual journey, to connect to the
Divine?
Check off as many as you’d like and maybe add some to the other category at the bottom of the
Sheet.
- Make a Reminder Card
Write “Don’t Forget to Connect” across top of card
Look through your checked off list and decide what spiritual discipline(s) you could commit to
and when – Morning: Take a walk, Afternoon: Play the Piano, Evening: Journal
Hang this card somewhere you’ll see it daily – bathroom mirror, frig, car
Change it as needed as you practice your spiritual disciplines – Be sure to note the time & type of spiritual discipline you will practice.
- Journal about your Spiritual Discipline
What do you yearn to experience in regard to the Divine?
What would hinder or block you from doing your spiritual discipline?
What supports your intention to connect to the Divine, to practice your spiritual discipline?
The friendship/accountability group you’ll be assigned to is the perfect place to let others know what you’re experiencing and learning about yourself in relation to the Spirit with your use of spiritual disciplines.
