This fall we decided to publish something different – an edition of Faith in Practice that included graphic storytelling.
In it, we are featuring the work of several talented Quaker, or Quaker-leaning, artist story-tellers among us. Though we often use words to express faith, art is also a direct expression of how we live in God’s world. In this issue, our artists take a deep and thoughtful look at issues of interest to Friends. They discuss the impact environmental issues have on public health, talk about gender identity, and offer a wry look at things that affirm or make us laugh about ourselves. Our artists are:
- Signe Wilkinson, the Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist at The Inquirer;
- Joey Hartman-Dow, the author of Friends Committee on National Legislation’s SEEKS -Issue 1 on Climate Disruption
- Ramona Sharples, the published comic artist, software engineer, and panelist for LGBTQ rights and workplace equality at Netflix, VMware, and Salesforce.
Enjoy the story-telling!
