Philadelphia Yearly Meeting is inviting monthly meetings to apply for $1,000 grants for needed technology purchases and implementations to support outreach/in-reach goals, and virtual or hybrid meeting capacity-building.
There is no grant deadline. Eligible projects will be funded on a first-come-first-served basis according to when they are received. The application process for the grants is simple; meeting representatives should fill out the form at the end of this news story. Only one project per meeting will be funded.
Thanks to a recent Shoemaker Fund grant, there is sufficient funding for seven projects, each by a different meeting. These grants will complement the work of the Membership Development Granting Group, which has made several grants for similar purposes to assist meetings in recent years.
Areas of Grant Support and Grant Application Timeline
Grants can support specific tech or communication enhancements that facilitate hybrid or virtual meeting. Examples of purchases the grant can fund are tech equipment like microphones, cameras, I-pads, Owl conferencing systems, audio visual systems, and laptop projectors for hybrid worship. Grants can also help fund websites, web enhancements, web upgrades, or Wi-Fi.
Since there is a limited amount of funding, applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis.
Projects should accomplish any one of these three things:
- Enhance your meeting’s tech platforms and/or proficiency
- Achieve or improve hybrid or remote worship at your meeting.
- Improve the meeting’s website or Wi-Fi
Meetings which receive grants must:
- Spend funds by July 31, 2022
- Complete a follow up grant report survey by July 31, 2022
- Designate someone involved in the project to attend a PYM hybrid tech workshop (date to be determined)
