Families from around Philadelphia Yearly Meeting gathered on February 22–23 at Camp Onas in Ottsville, PA, for PYM’s annual Winter Family Overnight! The weekend provided a chance for Quaker families to connect, build community, and step away from the busyness of everyday life. Families enjoyed intergenerational games, youth crafts and activities, shared meals, a campfire with s’mores, and outdoor family worship. While younger children participated in their own activities, Middle School Friends had time to bond and form new friendships. Favorite moments from the weekend included making new friends, enjoying the campfire, and spending time with other Quaker families.
Looking ahead, PYM’s next Family Overnight will take place April 26–27 at Camp Dark Waters in Medford, NJ—all are welcome to join! Families are also encouraged to participate in the upcoming Climate Witness: Let Our Actions Speak! Thread Gathering on March 22. This event, open to all ages, will explore how Friends can take meaningful action on climate concerns. While teenagers can participate online or in person, children are invited to join, at Friends Center, with PYM youth staff for morning and afternoon workshops, featuring crafts, songs, and tree planting. Families are encouraged to attend together, learning and taking action as a community.
