We are thrilled to welcome Joe Kirkenir as Director of Development (pictured left) and Daniel Doan as Middle School Co-Facilitator (pictured right). We are excited for the experience and dedication they will bring to their roles within PYM.
Joe Kirkenir took advantage of his time earning an English degree at Gettysburg College by exposing himself to diverse viewpoints through powerful literature and rallying the campus community around great causes. Upon graduation, he began his career in nonprofit fundraising, leading the development efforts for Big Brothers Big Sisters of York and Adams Counties and the YMCA of the Roses.
Joe’s passion for fundraising extends to his robust volunteer life, where he serves as the Fundraising Chair on the boards of Lancaster Pride and The Common Wheel and as President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Central PA Chapter and the Animal Advocates of South Central PA.
Joe lives in Lancaster, PA, with his wife, Mandy, and two cats, Victor and Nona. He is a member of the York Monthly Meeting in York, and, in addition to nonprofit fundraising, his passions include ultrarunning, reading, and cooking.
With Joe stepping into his role as Director of Development, we’re pleased to introduce Daniel Doan as a new member of the PYM Young Friends Staff. Daniel’s background in youth programming brings additional experience to the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting team.
Daniel Doan grew up in the Tallahassee Monthly Meeting in Florida, part of the Southeastern Yearly Meeting. He is now an attendee of the Millville Monthly Meeting, where he runs the First-Day Program. His excitement about coordinating the Middle School Program at the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting stems from 11 years of experience as a Middle School Math and Science teacher, his work at summer camps, and his involvement in Youth Programs at the Friends General Conference. Passionate about music and the outdoors, Daniel looks forward to sharing these interests and learning from the youth of the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting.
Let us warmly welcome Joe and Daniel as they join the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting Community in their new roles!
