Greetings, Friend! I’m Christie Duncan-Tessmer and I serve Philadelphia Yearly Meeting as the General Secretary. I invite you to live out your spiritual life in the context of our larger community – Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. Together we are a grounded, powerful and needed people who support and hold accountable one another so that we manifest the Truth as we are called and as we experience it.
The General Secretary is the chief administrator of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, responsible for executive leadership, oversight of staff operations and support and integration of all yearly meeting projects, services, and activities. I look forward to working with everyone in our faith community.
I believe we are ready to trust the solid foundation we have built in recent years, to trust in the Spirit and to leap into new space where the vitality and potential among us can find new expression. I envision an integrated, deliberate approach to our corporate work and life and want members to experience our faith as a large, vibrant community manifesting Truth and Spirit.
Prior to becoming General Secretary, I served our yearly meeting as Associate Secretary for Program and Religious Life from 2008-2014 and as Children’s Religious Education Coordinator from 2005-2008. I am a member of Chestnut Hill Monthly Meeting and live in Mt. Airy with my husband and children.
