We celebrate Indigenous Peoples all year and invite you to join us during National Native American Heritage Month. Throughout November, we’re highlighting the “original people,” “The Grandfathers,” the Lenape People of the land where we reside.
Salem Quarter Indian Affairs Committee and First Contact Reconciliation Collaborative are spotlighting the voice of Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape leadership with our southjerseyQuakers YouTube video, Continuing the Legacy of Shackamaxon a talk by Pastor John R. Norwood with Friends’ during Tri-Quarter Gathering 2021.
We are grateful for Pastor Norwood’s gift of truth-telling and this recording posted by southjerseyQuakers. We won’t reconcile what we don’t know; may we learn together, maybe host a watch-party – with family, with congregations, with parent associations, with teachers, with literacy groups, with volunteers, with co-workers, with caregivers…. Truth-telling begins our healing processes.
On October 31st Pastor’s talk had 100 views; we’re already seeing an increase in that number! Over the next month, let’s see what love might do!
