More Resources for Meeting Website Development
Earlier this year, we shared resources provided by Friends General Conference (FGC) for ‘What’s After Quaker Cloud?’. As meetings begin the transition of migrating their websites to alternative web hosting platforms, we’d like to introduce you to an additional alternative meetings can consider.
The Quaker Meetings Network (QMN) was setup in the UK in 2018 to provide a centralized system for Quaker meetings to create beautiful, modern websites. With the shutting down of FGC Quaker Cloud by the end of 2023, QMN was approached by Friends in the US to gauge whether their system and website offerings could be extended to the US. While the system is currently tailored for Quakers in the UK, QMN web developers believe they can also offer a great alternative to those looking for a similar solution the Quaker Cloud here in the States.
Subsequently, QMN invites meetings to sign up to participate in their pilot program for Quaker meetings in the US, including a free trial of their web hosting system. Offerings include:
- a bespoke website builder designed and built by Friends for Friends. The tool is fun to use and easy to maintain by anyone, no matter their technical expertise.
- a continuous source of support so in the event roles change hands, meeting are supported.
The QMN system also offers an intranet space for internal communications, including private discussion forums, notice boards, and document storage and sharing. Signing up for a free trial is easy and fast (10 minutes or less)!
Monthly and Quarterly meetings interested in signing up for a free trial can visit here, or visit QMN’s website to learn more. For meetings with alternative options already in place, but still have interest in receiving more information in the future, reach out to Quaker Meeting Network at hello@quaker.app to stay informed.
