Boise Valley Friends Meeting Minute Regarding Support for the Lawsuit Filed by the Philadelphia, New England, and Baltimore Yearly Meetings and the Adelphi and Richmond Meetings of the Baltimore Yearly Meeting Challenging Immigration Enforcement Actions within Houses of Worship.
The Boise Valley Religious Society of Friends fully supports the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, New England Yearly Meeting, Baltimore Yearly Meeting, Aldephi and Richmond Monthly Meetings as plaintiffs in bringing a lawsuit to block the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that allows federal officials to enter houses of worship to enforce immigration enforcement actions. The Boise Valley Friends are in spiritual unity with the above Meetings. We agree as stated in the lawsuit that armed government agents monitoring or entering our place of worship is anathema to our religious practices. We believe that houses of worship are sacred spaces. We fully endorse the position that the Court should declare unconstitutional the enforcement policy that has been promulgated by DHS.
With deep appreciation and support,
Thomas Carr, Presiding Clerk
Boise Valley Religious Society of Friends Meeting
Member of the North Pacific Yearly Meeting
