The Travel and Witness Granting Group (TWGG) provides grants to support active service and witness by individuals following leadings of the Spirit, in accord with the donors’ restrictions on its four funds. Reports from our grantees are inspiring and their service and witness strengthen the Religious Society of Friends.
2021
Grants totaling $8,506 went to individuals:
- A young adult Friend for their involvement with The Listening Project
- A young adult Friend for weight training as a form of queer empowerment
- A young adult friend for transportation for their chaplain residency
- An individual traveling on Friends concerns in Amman, Jordan
- A member of PYM for car travel to learn about the stewardship of Meeting grounds
Organizations Funded:
- $4,000 grant to Pendle Hill for their 2021 Continuing Revolution conference on Hope, Grief, Rage and Action
- $3,104 grant to FGC for their 2021 FGC Gathering “Way Will Open”
- $4,000 grant to FGC for their 2022 FGC Gathering “… and follow me”
2020
Grants totaling $10,907 went to individuals travelling to:
- Australia for a personal witness to visit Quaker Meetings
- England for the Quaker Pilgrimage
- Germany for a book tour promoting restorative justice
- Palestine for the Eyewitness Palestine program
- Switzerland for the Quaker United Nations Summer School
- Uganda to work with the Bududa Learning Center
Organizations Funded:
- $4,00 grant to Pendle Hill for their 2020 Continuing Revolution conference
