FAITH INTO ACTION: A family-friendly interfaith gathering to support democracy

The national Quaker Call to Action is hosting a family friendly, interfaith service that will focus on Pennsylvania and be both inspirational as well as practical. This special event will bring together interfaith leaders who will help inspire and confirm the faith basis for our individual actions in the weeks prior to November 5, 2024. We will have specific actions that can be completed in the moment, by those present — both adults and children.
Inspiring speakers will offer a short message that is appropriate for the time and place we find ourselves in, and there will be space for Quaker waiting worship between and following the speakers. Our plan is to have Interfaith “Elders” present (in the Friends tradition, Elders are holders of wisdom) to hold the event in prayer.
You are encouraged to bring children, grandchildren, neighbors and friends! Children will participate in the opening and closing of the program, and during the speakers they will have their own time to explore listening for truth and using our voices through playing together, hearing stories, singing songs, and creating prayers.
We hope that by bringing faith leaders and intergenerational community together we can expand the reach that people of faith can have in the 2024 election, and inspire care for community alongside Spirit-led action.
The event will end with light refreshments and “action stations” to help people find ways to get involved in the November 5th election.
