“Let’s be Friends: Explore Merion Friends Meeting and meet special guest Clara Barton”.

On April 27 from 2-4 pm, Pat Jordan, local impersonator, will present herself as the founder of the American Red Cross and members of Merion Meeting will give tours of the meetinghouse, the burial ground and the horse sheds.  The event will begin in Friends’ Hall (the one-story building across from the Green Drop) at 615 Montgomery Avenue, Narberth 19072.  A snack will be served after Clara’s talk and the tours.

Meet Clara Barton 

Clara Barton is known by many monikers, including the Civil War’s “Angel of the Battlefield” and “The Founder of the American Red Cross”.  Her outstanding contributions to our country have made hers a household name, yet her accomplishments go well beyond those listed above.  You’ll enjoy hearing about Clara’s unusual childhood, the years she spent as a teacher, a clerk in Washington, and so much more.  Clara Barton is truly an American hero!
