Everence, a faith-based and member-owned financial group, partners with Philadelphia Yearly Meeting to provide financial resources and support. One of their offerings is the Financial Choice program, which includes up to six free one-on-one sessions—by phone or video—for those affiliated with PYM. Friends are able to utilize these sessions with a focus on budgeting, debt, or any other financial questions. Everence has worked out lower interest rates with several credit card companies, which means participants using the program may be eligible for adjusted terms without affecting their credit.
Another program, Freed Up, offers a six- to eight-week course designed to support those who want to strengthen their approach to money management. Everence also provides education sessions about Medicare through a senior health team. The sessions are meant to be informative, with no obligation to enroll in any Everence products.
In this presentation, it is outlined how Everence brings these educational offerings into community settings. These sessions—sometimes hosted after worship or as lunch gatherings—focus on practical topics. Some examples include reviewing Medicare plans, identifying common scams, or preparing for care needs.
