A Little About My Role at PYM
As PYM’s Director of Development, Merri is responsible for building a culture of philanthropy, leading the organization’s fundraising program; managing the development team; working with staff, volunteers, and consultants to develop short and long-term fundraising goals. Merri works to develop and ensure consistent messaging while leading the annual fund and major gifts program while also cultivating donor relationships and overseeing stewardship activities. Merri believes strengthening relationships with Quaker meetings is key to community support.
About Merri
Merri’s vocational experience is in nonprofit and institutional development and advancement, as well as communications, marketing, and graphic design. She greatly values and feels energized by collaborative, trustworthy relationship-building toward a common purpose and goal. Ultimately, she works to facilitate turning ideas into action and impact and finds these types of engagements and interactions both invigorating and inspiring!
Merri grew up in Philadelphia and frequently hikes and bikes through the vibrant and lush Wissahickon Valley. Merri is a dedicated member of an ELCA Lutheran faith community, a lifelong choral singer, an active Board Member, and civically work the polls as a Judge of Elections for her division and is grateful for the opportunity to serve her neighbors in this capacity.
Did You Know?
Merri’s guilty pleasure is unapologetically green-bleeding as a “spirited” Eagles fan who regularly listens to local sports radio talk shows. She is even known to occasionally call in to offer her Eagles-related opinion and “wisdom” to unsuspecting listeners. GO BIRDS!
