A Little About My Role at PYM
Inaara Shiraz serves as the Inclusion and Belonging Coordinator as part of the Program and Religious Life (PRL) Team. In her role, Inaara supports diversity, inclusion, and belonging efforts within the yearly meeting and supports the community of Young Adult Friends. She profoundly believes in the power of people uniting to make themselves and society more humane, welcoming, loving, and compassionate. Inaara devotes herself to fully understanding how Friends and meetings can become more inclusive and welcoming of people across identities and experiences within the PYM community.
About Inaara
Inaara graduated from Harvard University with a joint degree in History and Literature as well as in Theater, Dance & Media, minoring in South Asian Studies. She has worked across higher education supporting research projects, working as a teaching fellow, and offering tutoring services. Experienced in the non-profit sector, Inaara enjoys working with community members throughout the region, supporting impactful and service-oriented initiatives. She is highly experienced in helping organizations align system-wide communications with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) standards.
Did You Know?
Inaara loves the fall season, and in her free time can be found enjoying walks. She hopes to learn to play the piano, paint with watercolors, and own a full in-home coffee bar where she can practice making and taste testing various kinds of coffee.
