A Little About My Role at PYM
Greetings, Friend! I’m Christie Duncan-Tessmer and I serve Philadelphia Yearly Meeting as the General Secretary. I invite you to live out your spiritual life in the context of our larger community – Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. Together we are a grounded, powerful and needed people who support and hold accountable one another so that we manifest the Truth as we are called and as we experience it. I look forward to working with everyone in our faith community.
The General Secretary is the chief administrator and has executive leadership and oversight responsibilities for all staff operations and PYM projects, services, and activities. The General Secretary is responsible for contributing to the vitality and effectiveness of the Yearly Meeting as a whole, working with staff and committees to maintain a spirit of collaboration, overseeing and supporting the work of the Yearly Meeting staff and volunteers, leading communication and support efforts, and participating in resource raising and fiscal and property management. The General Secretary also serves as the principal public face of PYM, participates in Yearly Meeting sessions, and provides leadership for large projects.
