As some may know, PYM Connect is already running in test mode, utilizing volunteers from the PYM community. We invite you to collaborate with us in building PYM Connect, shaping it into a meaningful space that reflects the needs and spirit of Friends.
These participants have undergone an education session and are piloting the creation of their profiles and learning how to use the platform. The testers have not identified any major issues, and we’re excited to see how other Friends will engage with PYM Connect.
This platform offers a secure, supportive space where participants can share updates, connect over shared ministries, and foster fellowship. Each interaction helps shape PYM Connect to better reflect the needs and spirit of the community, ensuring it grows alongside the Friends who use it.
Through early testing, some Friends have already begun experimenting with ways to express their interests within the PYM community. Friends have used their bios to request connections on specific personal Quaker interests and promote intentional engagement. As PYM staff continue to receive early interest sign-ups, they are noticing that many participants are ready to utilize the Ministry & Care discussion forum, suggesting that this Community of Practice may become a main forum for connection and discussion on the platform.
We are encouraging Friends to sign up for early access and help guide the platform through stages of development. There is hope that we will have at least 40 participants signed up by the new year. Participation as an early tester will not only support the platform’s growth but will also allow you to influence how it serves the wider community.
Whether you are drawn to explore the Communities of Practice, share your experiences, or simply connect with others, your input during this phase will be invaluable in making PYM Connect a welcoming and effective tool for all.
