Standing Committee on Peace and Concerns

The Standing Committee on Peace and Concerns is charged with helping Friends to follow leadings toward peace and social order as well as for assuring good order in the approval and management of projects under the care of Yearly Meeting. Friends, groups of Friends or Meetings under a concern for which Yearly Meeting oversight and support may be sought are urged to contact this committee early in the planning process.

Walk for a New SpringPYM NEWS: Nineteen walkers stopped at PYM’s Burlington Meeting House & Conference Center on March 16 for a potluck dinner, a conversation on peace and a good night’s rest before embarking on their journey to Camden the next morning.



PYM Ministry for Racial Justice and Equality

PYM NEWS: Members of the Ministry for Racial Justice and Equality in the Religious Society of Friends sent letters to Meetings last fall, offering a visit from the group to share about the ministry. We have now scheduled visits to Woodstown Meeting (NJ), Third Haven Meeting (MD) and Fallsington Meeting (PA).

PYM NEWS: The PYM Indian Committee is pleased to report that the first sweat lodge ceremony in a Maryland State prison took place last fall at Eastern Correctional Institution, located in Westover, Maryland, Southern Quarter.



“Lost Stories of Faith” Exhibit at Arch Street
