Crosswick Friends Meeting is a warm and welcoming modern faith community which gathers for worship every Sunday in the beautifully restored Quaker Meetinghouse on the village green in Crosswicks. Visitors are always welcome.

Crosswicks Friends welcome visitors.

Our worship is held in silence. Each person present silenttly prays, mediatates, or otherwise waits upon the Divine as each feels is appropriate. Some may feel led to stand and speak to share a thought, recollection, observation, or insight with others who are present. Friends hold that such messages arise from Divine leading..

Throughout the year from September through June, everyone is welcome before worship at our Intergenerational Gathering. This is held at 9:30 am in our First Day - traditional Quaker name for Sunday - School building which is to the right of the Meetinghouse shown in the banner above. During this time we sing, often from the wonderful Quaker hymnal Worship in Song. Many of our hymns will be familiar to those from other Faith traditions. Others will probably be new - such as the children's favorite "Who put the colors in the rainbow?" We also share readings and lessons from Scripture and other sources, and invite our children to report on their special programs.

Then at 10 am, the children remain here for their program, while the adults move to the Meetinghouse next door for Worship.

At 11 o'clock, the Friend who has been appointed Head of Meeting for this month will turn and shake hands with the next person, and everyone in the Meetinghouse turns and shakes hands with the person sitting on each side, and Meeting is over. Announcements will be made and visitors made welcome.

After rise of Meeting, Crosswicks Friends then share light refreshments in a social hour. Members of Meeting will be available to talk with visitors as they also share fellowship with each other.Such gatherings help visitors to get to know Friends, and also build community among Quakers - Fellowship helps us know each other, and to share our experiences in the world.

We look forward to sharing Quaker worship and fellowship with other Friends and with visitors at Crosswicks Friends Meeting. Come join us. Whether you are just interested in learning more about modern Quakers, or if you are seeking a new spiritual home, you will be warmly welcomed.
